St Francis Xavier has been ranked 7th among top schools of Kolkata in online education by the Times of India Survey of 2021, and 5th among top schools in the East Zone. Our well-educated, trained and motivated faculty provides the student with the best educational experience. The emphasis is on interactive learning through the best use of methodology, logical orientation and modern technology.
A well-stocked library with more than 10,000 titles for all age groups. The library is one of the best in the city and is regularly updated with new titles. The catalog is accessible from the school computer laboratory. From a very tender age, students are encouraged to read and are allowed to access the library books during their weekly library periods.
We were one of the 1st schools in West Bengal to start virtual education from 1st April 2020, when the pandemic set in and physical classes had to be suspended due to lockdown. Classes were held via the Zoom App and homework was sent through Google Classroom App. Online workshops and seminars are often conducted for teachers as well as students.
Along with academic’s Co-curricular activities are a part of the curriculum at St Francis Xavier School. It includes cultural events, library activities, science lab activities, classroom activities, creative arts, club activities along with training for public speaking.
Our school lays extra importance on extra-curricular programs such as Cricket, Football, Basketball, Throw-ball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Yoga and Karate are some of the Sports and Games which the students learn and excel in. Besides nurturing their athletic talents, this inculcates a spirit of healthy competition and teamwork in students.

I completed my matriculation from St. Francis Xavier School in 1993. Reflecting on more than 10 years I spent at the school, I realised how fortunate I was to attend this school. I was part of the first batch when school got recognition from ICSE board. Each teacher genuinely cared for their students and ensured their best to make the classes enjoyable and keep the students engaged at the same time. I was able to build relationships with my teachers, administration, and school staff, and always felt I could trust them in times of need.
I will be forever grateful to Madam Chopra for her continuous guidance, the faculty and students I met here for their never ending support and the skills I acquired here, that have helped me get to where I am today.
Mr. Vinay Jain was in the first batch when our school got recognition from ICSE Board. Later he did his C.A. and is also an alumnus of IIM, Ahmedabad. He also did his CFA from The CFA Institute, U.S.A. and is presently holding a very responsible post of Zonal Head (North), Treasury Deptt. of ICICI Bank in New Delhi.

Dreaming about your life?
For me it started when I was in school, sitting on wooden benches and learning the tales of life from chalkboards was one of the best lessons that dared me to leap forward in life. My name is Shristi Sharma, a Bioinformatics Researcher in Delhi Technological University and the founder of Bioxone.in ( A Scientific Writing Platform).St. Francis Xavier was the first window from where I could peep into the big world. To this day, the fond memories of recess and terrifying exams never get old. If you ask me, what is happiness? I would still say ” the days where marble was better than marvel! “. Nevertheless, my school never ceased to amaze me.
It is an immense honor for me to write about my Alma mater and hope that those who read this will cherish their good old school days too. I wish all the good luck to my Alma mater.

Over the years in STFX (St. Francis Xavier School), so many doors were opened for our academic and inter-personal development.My time at STFX brought clarity of knowledge, thought and surely pushed me towards achieving my initial goals in life.
The initial thought of making a difference surely comes from a school and I think STFX played a vital role towards the implementation of this amazing thought.
Those were some of the best years of my life and now when I look back I have nothing but a smile on my face.
